Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is made by Man with Van Upton Park in recognition of our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. We are committed to conducting our business ethically, transparently, and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations relating to modern slavery.
Man with Van Upton Park provides man and van, removal, and related logistics services. Although we are a relatively small organisation, we recognise that the risk of modern slavery can exist in any business or sector. We take these risks seriously and aim to ensure that no form of modern slavery or human trafficking is present in our activities or in the activities of those who supply goods and services to us.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
We operate a clear zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in all forms. This policy applies to all individuals working for or on behalf of Man with Van Upton Park at every level, including employees, agency workers, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
No business need, commercial pressure, or operational challenge justifies any involvement in practices that undermine the fundamental rights and dignity of people. Where we identify, or reasonably suspect, any breach of our zero-tolerance policy, we will take immediate and decisive action, which may include terminating relationships, reporting concerns to relevant authorities, and engaging with affected individuals to support remediation where appropriate.
Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits
Our supply chain primarily consists of vehicle leasing or maintenance providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, and occasional subcontracted transport and removal services. We expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold standards that are consistent with our own commitment to preventing modern slavery.
We are developing and implementing a risk-based approach to supplier due diligence and audits. This includes assessing new and existing suppliers based on factors such as sector, geography, and type of service provided. Where higher risks are identified, we may request additional information on labour practices, worker welfare, and recruitment methods, and may conduct more frequent or detailed reviews.
We reserve the right to audit suppliers to verify compliance with our modern slavery standards. Audits may include reviewing documentation, conducting interviews where appropriate, and requesting evidence of policies and procedures that safeguard workers. Failure by a supplier to meet our expectations or to cooperate with reasonable audit requests may result in corrective action or the termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing Channels
Man with Van Upton Park encourages an open culture in which concerns about modern slavery or unethical behaviour can be raised without fear of retaliation. All employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders are encouraged to report any suspicion of modern slavery, human trafficking, or related exploitation connected to our business or supply chains.
Concerns can be raised directly with management or via internal reporting channels that are communicated to staff and key partners. Reports can be made confidentially, and we will take all such reports seriously, investigate them promptly, and handle information sensitively. No individual who makes a report in good faith will suffer any detriment as a result of speaking up.
Where appropriate, we will cooperate with relevant authorities and expert organisations to investigate allegations and support suitable remediation measures for affected individuals.
Training, Awareness, and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff. Appropriate team members, especially those involved in procurement, supplier management, and operations, are provided with guidance on identifying indicators of exploitation and the steps to take when concerns arise.
We review our internal procedures, supplier engagement practices, and risk assessments regularly to strengthen our approach. Lessons learned from audits, investigations, and industry developments are used to update our processes and guidance.
Annual Review and Statement Approval
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, effective, and aligned with legal requirements and best practice. As our business and supply chains evolve, we will continue to refine and improve our measures to identify, prevent, and address modern slavery risks.
The leadership of Man with Van Upton Park is responsible for overseeing this policy and ensuring its implementation throughout the organisation. This statement represents our ongoing commitment to conducting our business in a manner that respects human rights and promotes fair and safe working conditions for all.
